The Institute of Health Food
The Institute of Health Food was established in 1986. It is the only organization researching and developing the health food in Zhejiang province. There is a provincial medical science of “nutrition” in the institute. It is the fixed organization examining the food hygiene of Zhejiang Province. At present, Zhejiang Province health food research and develop technological creative service construction of platform is being carried out.
The Institute of Health Food has a R&D office of health food, an analysis research room, a nutrition and food hygiene research room, and a workshop for health food research. There are relevant skilled personnel of nutrition, food hygiene, function food engineering, food analysis, pharmacology, preparation and natural medicine in the institute, possessing instruments and equipments and facility conditions for research and development. There are 24 scientific research personnel now, one researcher and six assistant researchers are among them.
The Institute of Health Food is mainly engaged in nutrition foundation and application study, health food research and development, analysis and test, devoting to study the health effect of nutrition and health food research and development. Having the conditions and experiences of the foundation and applied basic research, we have been engaged in the research of food nutrient and non- nutrient and effect relation of the health and the research and development of health food and construction of platform of exchange of technology and database for many years, which offer technical support and service for the government to make nutrition and relevant policies of food security, in order to ensure the people's food security and healthy, reduce the chronic disease incidence and improve national body constitution. The draw and separate technology of efficiency composition among foods and the study field of health food research and development is advanced competence in domestic or inside Zhejiang province. The sources of current studies include international cooperation subject, National natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Nutrition Society, Scientific and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province. Besides, the health food test works from SFDA are carried.
In recent years, several dozen successively undertaken researches in the institute include NIH international cooperation subject, National natural Science Foundation of China supported subject, Chinese Nutrition Society supported subject, Scientific and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province supported subject, Public Health Department of Zhejiang Province supported key subject. Two Zhejiang Province scientific and technological progress 3 grade award, four national patent for invention, three Zhejiang Province medical and health innovative awards and 10 certificates of health food were obtained. The series of achievement in the fields of nutrition and health food has made certain contribution for the people's health cause.
